Perhaps you have had some exposure to the basic teaching of the Christian faith. Perhaps you have had none. It doesn’t matter! Adult Instruction classes at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church are for all people, irrespective of their background and experience.

Who might be interested in Adult Instruction?

  • a member of our church who wishes to take a refresher course
  • a non-member who wishes to be baptized, confirmed or become a member of the church
  • an individual who simply wants to gain more knowledge about the core teachings, beliefs and doctrine of the Lutheran Church and the Christian faith

Taught by Pastor Evandro Kopper, 10 weekly class sessions are held two or three times a year, depending on what is convenient for those attending and whenever a class of interested parties can be gathered.  Class sessions last 60 – 90 minutes depending on the previous knowledge and experiences of the class.

You will learn basics of the Christian faith as taught in Holy Scripture and Luther’s Small Catechism. Specific attention will be given to Scripture, Law & Gospel, Creation, Jesus, Conversion, The Church, Prayer, Baptism, Confession & Absolution, Holy Communion and what it means to be Lutheran.

Non-members who complete all sessions of the class are invited to be received into communicant membership at the completion of the course.

If you are interested in learning more about Christ crucified and risen for the forgiveness of sins and what Lutherans believe, teach, and confess please contact our church secretary at office@stpaulslutheran1860.com or (573) 796-2735.
