- The scholarship money available is the total of donations made to the “Lutheran High School Scholarship Fund” by church members or family members of potential students.
- The student/applicant must be a communicant member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church who desires to attend a Lutheran High School rather than public school. This scholarship is designed to help defray education expenses charged by the school.
- The school year shall be considered the fall term through the summer term.
- All monies donated for a given year shall be divided equally among all applicants.
- “Immediate Family” may make donations directly to the school for a specific student. Immediate Family includes parents, step-parents, siblings, and grandparents of the student.
- Scholarship monies are intended to be used for education expenses connected with the student’s education. If the student does not attend in the year stated on the application or terminates, transfers or drops out mid-year, scholarship money will be divided up between any remaining students attending from St. Paul’s congregation. If only a single student is enrolled and they terminate, transfer or drop out mid-year, contributions will be kept by the Lutheran High School as a “ministry support” donation.
- Application for the gift is to be made by June 30 prior to the beginning of the school year in which it is to be used. Application forms available in the church office and on the church website at enter web address here.
- On the application form, the student will be asked to tell, in their own words, why they choose to attend a Lutheran High School.
- Checks from the fund will be distributed prior to the first day of the school year and will be made payable directly to the Lutheran High School which the student will be attending.
- Amount of each individual award will not exceed the total educational cost to the student.
